Hannah Hawes

Hannah Hawes

Hannah is a classically trained pianist with experience in solo performance, solo and choral accompaniment, and live collaboration in a variety of contexts. She began studying piano formally at the age of five and accompanying regularly at the age of twelve. She studied at Houghton University’s Greatbatch School of Music under Dr. Bill John Newbrough, earning a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with a Minor in Music Industry. Since graduation, she has gained additional experience working as an organist. She enjoys creating original solo piano music with an emphasis on live improvisation, drawing on classical, new age, sacred, and anime music influences.

Hannah sees music as a language and a means for discovery, play, creativity, and expression. She often refers to music as a “metaphor for life” and believes that the principles which create meaningful music apply to all areas of life.
