Hello! My name is Doug Lizak, and I am excited to welcome students to GnG where I teach voice, trombone, and piano. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a minor in Psychology from Otterbein University where I graduated with honors. Since then, I have built over a decade of teaching experience across private lessons, schools, and community programs. I currently serve as an Elementary Music Teacher in Westerville City Schools where I design and lead engaging music instruction classes for hundreds of students each year.
My teaching philosophy is centered on helping students discover confidence, creativity, and joy through music. Whether coaching healthy vocal technique, guiding brass students in building tone and control, or introducing beginners to the piano, I tailor lessons to meet each student’s needs, goals, and interests. I believe music is not just about notes and rhythms, but about self-expression, discipline, and developing a lifelong love of learning.
