Julie Renato

Julie comes to GnG with a strong background in musical training, beginning at a very young age studying voice and piano, with a dream of being on Broadway. Julie began her college career pursing a Bachelor’s of Music in Musical Theatre from University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL, however transferred after two years of study to Otterbein University in Westerville, OH, completing a BA in Music in 2009. While at Otterbein, Julie performed leading roles in the operas, was a soprano section leader for the top choral ensemble, and participated in smaller jazz and popular vocal ensembles. She went on to teach voice and piano privately, as well as sing professionally in a variety of settings and styles, including opera, weddings, jazz, studio vocals, choral ensembles, and as a singer songwriter. Julie completed her Master’s in Music in Music Therapy from Ohio University and has been a practicing board-certified music therapist for a variety of populations for 9 years. She currently works part-time as a NICU Music Therapist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Julie is very comfortable working with students of all ages and abilities and is excited to return to private music instruction.
