Jason’s relationship with music began early, starting with piano lessons at age 7 and joining the school band in 5th grade as a percussionist. He took private lessons to learn the tuba in 8th grade which he continued playing throughout high school, attending ONU’s summer music camp and successfully auditioning for District Honors Band multiple years.
Jason started playing guitar in 8th grade and began progressing through books, tabs, online materials, playing in talent shows, and performing with friends. He continued studying throughout college when he moved to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University.
After college, Jason was inspired to push his abilities and continued his study with a focus on music theory and live performance. Jason now regularly performs at various acoustic and electric jams around Columbus and enjoys giving guitar lessons through a charity fundraiser at his work. He has a passion for teaching others to play the guitar and strives to motivate students to play by focusing on their interests and goals as well as incorporating technique, theory, and music reading into his lessons. Jason’s focus has been primarily on blues and classic rock but loves exploring other genres and deep-diving into musical inspirations and history.
